This commemorative recording by former Pfc Eddie Fisher, with interview, is being offered to the public for the first time. Known over Armed Forces Radio as "The GI Christmas Song", it was first recorded in 1951 in Wiesbaden, Germany, by then Pfc Eddie Fisher with Lutz Dietmar's Glenn Miller-styled orchestra. During the Vietnam War, "Christmas Eve In My Home Town" was then introduced to American audiences on the Johnny Carson Tonight Show by "Miss God Bless America" herself, Kate Smith.

In the years following, the song has been recorded by a dozen or more artists including Bobby Vinton, Jim Nabors, Eddie Fisher, and The Living Strings. Wonderful scenes from our hometowns, no matter where they are, come alive in Pfc Eddie Fisher's warm rendition of this holiday classic.
